Importing Layered Photoshop Files
“Why don’t my Photoshop files import with layers, or it won’t import, or the layers have black borders, or the effects don’t import?”
There are three possible reasons:
1. It was made on a PC. The file has to be saved on a Mac because the layer structure is different.
2. It’s been made with 16-bit per channel, not 8-bit. This is selectable in the newer versions of Photoshop.
3. The file is made up of vector shapes or lines, or has Photoshop vector effects like drop shadows or glows applied. These layers have to rasterized. See the bottom of this page for details.
